We are located on the beautiful Buffalo National River at Buffalo Point, 17 miles south of Yellville, Arkansas. The seventeen cabins comprising Buffalo Point Concessions are located in wooded areas with miles of hiking trails.
The five rustic cabins along with other features in the park were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 1940's. This was one of the most successful work programs involving young men aged 18-24. In return for job training and a paycheck, the men of the CCC provided labor for conservation and recreation parks nationwide. The rustic design that was a hallmark of the CCC work utilized materials found in the local area to blend with and complement the natural environment. Each element of a structure was considered integral to the design, whether it was a small rock path or the slope of the roof. Fireplaces and screened-in porches adorn the rustics along with recently remodelled kitchens and bathrooms.
The duplex cabins are all electric with open decks looking out over the forest, with two overlooking the Buffalo River. All cabins have a separate bedroom, large living area, kitchen, bathroom, air conditioning, and are completely furnished.
Outdoor barbecue grills are available with each cabin or lodge unit. Charcoal is not provided.
All cabins are furnished with basic kitchen utensils, bed linens, and towels. All cabins have an electric stove for cooking, microwave, refrigerator, air conditioner, and bathroom with shower. Cabins do not have telephone or television service. The duplex and lodge units are heated by electric wall units.
Lodge units are all in one building, each unit has a kitchen, bed/living room and bath with shower. These units are furnished like the cabins and sleep five people.
